The USC Alumni Club of London offers a wide variety of annual and unique events each year to local and visiting Trojans. Past events have included theater and bowling nights, pub crawls, a Paris Weekender with the USC alumni of Paris, day trips to historic places like Hampton Court, and more. Game Viewings
One of the hardest things about being a Trojan overseas is college football season. Coca-cola captured our plight perfectly— the committed fan will brave late nights and early mornings to get their fix.
As a club we try to screen as many USC games as we can every season. However, with national rankings, broadcast rights, and regional coverage all playing a role in determining which network shows which game, we will only know for sure if we can screen a game on a week-to-week basis. All game viewings will be announced on our events page.

Past Events

2010

2010 was a busy year for Trojans in London. The first of the quarterly pub nights was held at Camino near King's Cross, and in March we enjoyed a privately guided London Walk through London's alleys and a few hidden pubs. In April, Dr. Stephen Smith, the executive director of the USC Shoah Foundation Institute for Visual History and Education, engaged us in a discussion of some of the big issues that affect humanity today and how we might respond to them.

Summer in London is full of social events, and the Trojan summer calendar did not disappoint. Over 100 alumni joined Scott Mory and Dean James Ellis at the USC Trojan Family Reception. The club also hosted athletes from the "Trojan Navy" who came to the UK to compete in the Henley Royal Regatta. For the summer pub night, we were honored to be joined by Velina Hasu Houston, Associate Dean of Faculty at USC. We also welcomed new members to the Trojan Family at the annual SCend Off with a picnic in Regent's Park. The summer finale is the annual Proms in the Park - one of London's most popular events and also an annual tradition for Trojans in London.
In the fall, we try to screen as many Trojan football games as possible, and we continued with the tradition of joining the Paris club for their third annual Thanksgiving Dinner in Paris.

2009
2009 started with a great turnout at the Winter Pub Night at Ye Olde Chesire Cheese - one of the oldest pubs in London.
In March, we enjoyed London Walk: Ghosts, Gaslights and Guinness with guide Richard III and a pint at The Lady Drury. We were joined by Erin and JP from the Alumni Association who were visiting London on holiday. The walk ended in Covent Garden, and many of us capped off the night at Cafe Pacifico. Towards the end of March a group of Trojan alums met up on the crowded banks of the Thames for one of London’s biggest events, the Oxford/Cambridge boat race.

For April, we saw that Londoners are figuring out what Americans have known for a long time as bowling has become very trendy in London. London’s bowling halls have a lot to offer for a fun night out, not only for bowling, but with bars and diners too.
To kick off May, London Trojans went to see Midori Goto at Wigmore Hall. Not only a distinguished international musician, but also a professor of music at USC. While the performance was entertaining as we had expected, the post performance discussion with Midori proved to be a very unique experience. We talked to her about her teaching approach, what she has been doing at USC since joining the staff, and then about her instrument (a nearly 300 year old violin)!
